Cardiology Clinic
Through its ambulatory units and stationary base, the clinic performs a complex consultancy and diagnostic and therapeutic activity using the newest methods and devices in the cardiology science and art.
In the outpatient units of the clinic, situated at the consultation and diagnostics unit of the hospital, the following activities are performed:
A. Diagnostic and consultation analyses and clinical monitoring;
B. Functional diagnostic analyses:
- Electrocardiography;
- Transthoracal EHO cardiography;
- Transesophageal EHO cardiography;
- EKG stress test;
- 24-hour EKG Holter
C. Intervention x-ray diagnostics.
The intervention x-ray diagnostics center is situated in close proximity to the surgery unit and the clinic of anesthesiology and intensive treatment. The same is equipped with central medical gase-supply, air conditioning of the surgery and manipulation premises, the necessary facilities, conditions and equipment for preparation and post-manipulation care for patients.
The principal equipment of the sector is modern, provided with digital and film archives.
This sector has an IVUS apparatus, unique for the country, providing diagnostics, coronary angioplastics and stent monitoring as close to the best world standards as possible.
In the hospital units of the clinic, the following activities are performed:
A. Intensive treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
B. Invasive diagnostics, jointly with the image diagnostics ward, including:
- right cardiac catheterization;
- oximetry;
- determining minute heart volume;
- pulmoangiography;
- left cardiac catheterization;
- left ventriculograpgy;
- selective coronary angiography;
- aortography;
- carotodography;
- renovasography;
- peripheral angiography.
C. Invasive cardiological therapeutic procedures jointly with the image diagnostics ward, as follows:
- implanting intracoronary stents;
- carotid angioplastics;
- renal angioplastics;
- peripheral angioplastics;
- angioplastics of venous grafts;
- mitral, aortopulmonary and tricuspid valvuloplastics;
- pericardiac puncture;
- cava filter implantation;
- implantation of temporary and permanent pacemakers;
- implantation of automatic cardioverters (defibrillator);
- implantation of intra-aortal contrapulsator.
Functional and invasive diagnostic analyses, intensive treatment and intervention heart therapeutic procedures are carried out in compliance with the requirements of the "clinical paths" negotiated with the National Health Insurance Fund and the clinical protocols developed by the hospital (therapeutic algorithms).
The health status of every newly admitted patient is discussed in detail on a consultation chaired by the head of the clinic in order to determine the most efficient diagnostic and therapeutic strategy.
Considering the quality monitoring and internal assessment system implemented in the clinic regarding the diagnostic and therapeutic activities and nurse care, in the context of the main principles of "movement in favor of the effect from treatment", it was attained as follows:
- strict observation of cardiology specific standards;
- general and specific high quality nurse care;modern "hotel" servicing in all parameters of hospital accommodation.
